Myth 1: Sisterlocks can’t be styled
Many assume that once you get sisterlocks you will not be able to style your hair at all. This assumption is very UNTRUE. Mentioned in a previous post, there are many ways to style your hair once getting sisterlocks. The locs can be curled, put in updos, and so much other things as well. Don’t let this false claim keep you from doing what you want with your hair.
Myth 2: You are unable to wash your hair after getting locs
It is implied that once you get this particular hairstyle done that it is difficult to wash your hair, or people assume that anyone with locs have dirty hair. Neither of these are true. It is very easy to wash your hair with sisterlocks.
Myth 3: Getting locs are unprofessional
Think of sisterlocks as just regular hair. If you don’t put any effort into your hair you’re going to look unprofessional regardless of whether you have locs or not.
Myth 4: Locs Require no maintenance
This thought is very far from the truth. All natural hair requires maintenance and products that will help maintain the health of your hair. Things such as castor oil is very beneficial for those who have sisterlocks. Check out our other posts that talk about maintenance and care.

Everyone’s hair is different. Things such as texture, density, and length, will affect the final outcome of your sisterlocks. Your hair is one of a kind, therefore so will your sisterlocks.
